Our upcoming two days in Waynesboro will present us with the sustained chance to work together, understand innovations under active development in other Divisions as well as share and receive clear, powerful feedback. We can’t wait to engage in this work with you.

In what ways are we gathering strength within & between our communities?
The Martinsville IGNITE talks demonstrated the powerful diversity and creativity across our cohort. Two short months later, how is your work expanding in numbers, in rigor, in urgency? What artifacts, lessons learned and emerging formative data can you share with us in October?
What tangible and specific innovations are catalysts in this success?
It has been powerful to watch specific structures, protocols and / or team commitments electrify progress. Can you condense and be prepared to describe one or more of the specific small steps your team has taken to lead to purposeful change?
Where are we thriving? Where are we struggling?
Even on a good day, change isn’t easy. The whole point of our work together is to inspire our communities to expect more from conventional learning models and traditional leadership. As we find ourselves in the work, where are we ahead of schedule? What fears, uncertainties and doubts have we yet to shake?

The questions we use during a coaching conversation can unlock powerful potential in our teachers to make a shift towards innovation. The Innovation Coaches in Hopewell are teaming together to leverage instructional rounds with video and PDSA cycles to refine their coaching practices. Read more
Cross District Collaboration
VALIN Cohort members from Cumberland, hosted Fluvanna, Bedford, Louisa, and Powhatan along with virtual-connected, Scott McLeod, to work on the 4Shifts Protocol for deeper learning and integration of the 5Cs. Find more evidence of their collaborations on Twitter.
